The City will also be hosting its Free Tree Giveaway Day on Sunday, 13 June this year.
Last year’s event was an incredible success, with more than 620 free tree seedlings given away to residents to plant and nurture on their private properties.

Join the City of Canning on Wednesday 26 May at Queens Park Reserve from 4pm to 6pm as we welcome 3,000 street trees that are moving into the area over the next eight weeks.

Adults and children alike have the opportunity to come down to the reserve, wander through the pop up Urban Forest and get to know the tree types that will be springing up over the coming months.

To help our new green and leafy friends settle in, City of Canning residents are invited to name a street tree and write them a unique welcome message.

Using mapping software, the City will document the locations of where trees are being planted so that you can go and visit your new friend once they have officially moved in.
