Help to shape the future of the City of Canning

The City has received an application for a Local Development Plan (LDP) for a portion of land that is encompassed in the Bentley Regeneration Project Local Structure Plan area. The purpose of the LDP is to guide the development of a ‘Community Purpose’ building with additional secondary land uses which align with the primary ‘Community Purpose’ land use.

A Local Development Plan (LDP) is a planning document that is prepared prior to formal submission of a development application (DA) for a site. A Local Development Plan provides special design criteria to allow for future development to occur within a specific area. These plans typically show the proposed location of buildings on the site, car parking, vehicle access and landscaping.

Once an LDP is approved, applications for development approval on the site can be submitted which would provide more detail on the specific design of new buildings and would be assessed against the specific standards set by the LDP.

In accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015; the LDP is being advertised for public comment for 14 days.

You are invited to share your thoughts on this proposal.
