The City has received the abovementioned development application for a new Childcare Premises on the subject property. The application is briefly outlined below:

  • The Demolition of the existing development,
  • The construction of a single storey Childcare Premises (for up to 50 children and 8 staff), with the outdoor play areas concentrated along the northern, southern and western boundaries of the site.
  • An at grade car park which provides eleven (11) car parking bays with access off Riley Road, and
  • To operate 6:30am-6:30pm Monday to Friday.

The subject site is zoned “Residential” under the City of Canning Local Planning Scheme No. 42 (LPS42). The proposed Childcare Premises land use is an “A” use in the Residential zone, which means the use is not permitted unless the City has exercised its discretion by granting development (planning) approval after giving notice to affected properties.
