Your Ideas Needed: Design the New Playground at Canning Vale Oval

As part of the City of Canning’s Playground Renewal Program, we’re inviting local residents to help design a brand-new playground at Canning Vale Oval. This is your opportunity to share your ideas and help create a fun, safe, and inclusive space for the whole community to enjoy.

The current playground is located within the fenced garden area next to the pavilion and tennis courts. While this location has served the community well over the years, the equipment has now reached the end of its useful life.

As a neighbourhood-level playground, we’re planning more than just a simple replacement. Instead of rebuilding in the same location, we’re proposing to relocate the playground to an open area within the park, outside the fenced garden—so it’s more accessible and welcoming to the wider community.

We propose locating the new playground beneath the natural canopy of mature trees, offering a shaded and welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy. Take a look at the proposed location,

If you use the playground, or look forward to having a new playground in the area, tell us what you’d like to see in the new design by sharing your thoughts below. Playground Designers will use your ideas to create draft designs, and later, you’ll have a chance to give feedback on those plans. If you want to be part of the process, make sure to sign up!

  • Barbeques
  • Picnic tables and/or shelters
  • Drinking fountains
  • Rubbish bins
  • Park benches
  • Toilets

  • Canning Vale Oval -Pre-design Feedback

    We're creating a new and exciting playground at Canning Vale Oval and we need your help to design it!     

    While we know parents and guardians may have favourite playground features, we’d love to hear from the children who will be using the new playground. If possible, please involve your child or children when providing your feedback so we can capture their ideas too.
