Consultation has concluded




Participation, collaboration, public engagement, active citizenship, and inclusion are words that highlight the need and importance of citizens’ feedback regarding the definition and management of public policies. These words were first introduced into the public debate more than 20 years ago. They revolve around the concept of enhancing the citizens’ voice (Couldry, 2010).


WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

During 2018, the City of Canning Community Engagement Specialist, Ingrid Cumming, engaged with key stakeholders throughout the organisation, to develop the Community Engagement Framework.

As part of the project, the project deliverable to deliver the overall framework including engaging with the key stakeholders to ensure that the development of the community engagement framework, was reflective of the needs, aspirations and strengths already in the organisation.

WHAT NOW?

As part of the next stages of the project, we are conducting a lessons learned and project phase close process. To do this, we are keen to hear from you of how you felt the engagement went and any advice you would like to afford to ensure we continue or change/amend our approach to similar engagements with you in the future.
