Let's work together for climate action!

What’s being shaped?

The City of Canning is developing a new and ambitious Climate Change and Energy Transformation Strategy so that, together with our community, we can take strong action on climate change and create a thriving, sustainable and climate resilient Canning.

Climate resilience refers to the ability to adapt and manage what we value in Canning to protect against the impacts of climate change.

The City of Canning strives for leadership in taking action to minimise its climate impact through best practice climate change mitigation and energy transformation projects. It is our goal to reduce our corporate carbon footprint to net zero, and to support the development of innovative projects that help our community to do the same.

We need you, our valued Canning community, to help us shape the strategy. How? By creating a shared vision for a thriving, sustainable and climate resilient future in Canning and letting us know:

  • Your aspiration for the City to demonstrate climate resilience and leadership in sustainability
  • What you value and consider as priority for preparing for the impacts of climate change
  • Any challenges, barriers and ideas you have for creating and implementing sustainability and climate actions
  • How the City of Canning can best support you to overcome any of these challenges

Your input will help shape key priorities of the City of Canning's Climate Change and Energy Transformation Strategy 2023-2033 so that, together, we can reduce our emissions to net zero and build resilience to our changing climate.

Get Involved

Thank you to all those who completed the online survey and/or participated in a community workshop, we would like to express our deep gratitude and your input will significantly contribute to help shape our Vision.

What are the next steps?

We are busy putting the strategy together and will be seeking feedback on the draft soon. Stay tuned...
