Redevelopment of Chapman Park and Ashburton Park

The City of Canning (‘the City’) is planning to upgrade both Chapman Park and Ashburton Park, Bentley in the future and would like to invite the community to have their say.

The parks are side by side, separated by Chapman Road. They are similar in size, but different in character, with aging infrastructure and amenities. Ashburton Park is primarily used as a compensation basin collecting stormwater runoff from the surrounding roads, whereas Chapman Park is used as a recreational space with two tennis courts, a toilet block and a small playground.

The City believes that improvements to both parks will create more attractive, accessible and fun spaces that can be enjoyed by the local community.

The City is keen to hear what you think of Chapman and Ashburton Parks, and how they could be improved. Please take 5-10 minutes to complete the survey.

Feedback from the local community will help inform the preparation of a draft concept plan. This draft concept plan will then be shared with the community for further comments before it is finalized.

If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact the project’s Landscape Architect, Nanette Nguyen at customer@canning.wa.gov.au
