Outcome of community consultation - Report IE-008-26
At the Ordinary Meeting of Council, 21 July 2026 Council resolved to approve the prohibition of dogs, both on or off-leash, from the foreshore area, including entering the Canning River to the west and south of the dual use pathway at Centenary Park West, Wilson.
This is in consideration of protecting the saltmarsh community growing along the foreshore, and links with the adjacent ‘dogs prohibited’ foreshore area in the City of South Perth to provide consistent environmental protection across the Local Government boundary. Signage will be installed along the foreshore.
Please note: Dogs are still allowed to be walked along the footpath, either on or off-leash.
