Tales To-Go

Imagine grabbing a freshly made coffee on your morning walk, enjoying a cold drink by the river or picking up a bite to eat while the kids play. From 30 October 2026, the City of Canning will be trialling Tales To-Go, a mobile food and beverage van at Shelley Foreshore.

Operated by the Tales team from Whaleback, the van will offer barista-made coffee, cold drinks, freshly toasted sandwiches, muffins and other tasty bites.

You'll find Tales To-Go near the Shelley Foreshore toilet block, a short stroll from the playground and riverside path. Proposed opening hours are 7am to 2pm, with the potential to adjust these based on demand and community feedback.

We know Shelley Foreshore is a much-loved place to relax and enjoy the river, and we want to make sure any new offering complements what makes it special. That's why we're starting with a six-month trial, during which we'll monitor the site's operation, including waste management, and listen to community feedback before considering the next steps.
