Street Tree Request 2027

What's happening?

Let's grow a greener, cooler Canning together!

The City of Canning is planning to plant over 1,110 new street trees in 2027, and we need your help to make it happen!

Residents can choose from seven tree species, with planting expected to take place between May and September 2027.

Requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to apply early for the best chance of securing your preferred tree species. Please note that all requests are subject to assessment, with final planting decisions made by the City.

Together, we can create greener streets and a healthier, more liveable Canning!

Backstory

Trees play a vital role in keeping our neighbourhoods cool, healthy and beautiful. However, with tree canopy covering just 9.9% of Canning's local government area, there is still plenty of room to grow.

In response to our community's desire for more trees, the City adopted its Urban Forest Strategy to guide the sustainable growth and management of our urban forest.

Growing a greener Canning is a shared effort, and every street tree makes a difference.

Your street. Your tree. Our greener future.
