      Why is the City doing this survey?

      The City is trying to gain insight into current community expectations towards vehicle speeds on local streets. The City is currently engaged in a review of the City’s Integrated Transport Strategy Element R8 – Speeds. This review will involve an analysis of industry trends inclusive of the current WA Road Safety Strategy and future directions.

      What is the next step?

      Once the review of the City’s Integrated Transport Strategy Element R8 – Speeds is completed, a Report that includes a summary of the community feedback will be presented to council. This report will also include recommendations to amend Local Area Traffic Management Schemes to deliver beneficial road safety outcomes.

      No major decisions around speed limits would be implemented without further consultation with the community and Main Roads WA.

      No traffic calming devices would be installed without further consultation with the community.

      Yes, a summary of the results will be presented in a report to Council which will be publicy available.
