Coffee with a Cop
Date: Tuesday 3 October
Time: 10:30 - 12:00pm
Location: Westfield Carousel (in front of Senso Espresso)
Meet the officers from your local Police Station, no agenda, no speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighbourhood. Come down and complete our Community Safety Survey and we'll give you a voucher for a free coffee from Senso Espresso!
FREE RAC 'Learn to ride' Workshop
Date: Wednesday 4 October

City of Canning has partnered with RAC to deliver this 'Learn to Ride' Children's Workshop.
Enrol your children to learn how to ride a bike for the first time with this complimentary two-hour workshop suitable for ages 3 and over, delivered by industry experts People on Bicycles.
FREE RAC Bike Basics Workshop

City of Canning is excited to offer RAC’s Bike Basics workshops in your local neighbourhood. Refresh your bike knowledge and riding skills with this complimentary 3-hour workshops run by industry experts People on Bicycles. Suitable for all ages, however, participants must be able to ride a bike.
Bikelinc - Register to Win

Bikelinc connects you and your bike to police and your community, returning stolen bikes to their rightful owners.

Mental Health Awareness Week
7 - 14 October is Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW)
Green is the colour of mental health representing hope, strength and support. Celebrate your recovery or help us break stigma by wearing a Mental Health Awareness ribbon this MHAW.
As part of Community Safety Month, free Mental Health Awareness Ribbons will be available for collection at the City’s Civic Building and all library facilities from Friday 6 October.
World Homeless Day
Starting today ‘World Homeless Day’, the Bentley clinic will be open every Tuesday, 10am - 1pm at The Shop Front in Bentley.

Shelley Foreshore Foodtrucks Night

Between 4:30pm - 6:30pm Ranger Buddy will be joining the fun at Shelley Foreshore Foodtrucks night! The night market is a fun-filled event for all ages to come together and enjoy a variety of food from Perth's awesome foodtrucks, crafts, entertainment and lawn games.

FREE Graffiti Removal Kit Pop-Up

The Safe Communities Team will be at Southlands Boulevarde from 11am – 2pm, educating the community on how to remove, report, and prevent graffiti. Pop down for a chat and a FREE graffiti removal kit.
Get to know your neighbours!
The Safe Communities team will be out and about promoting our 'Howdy Neighbour Card' and why it is important to get to know your neighbours.
Your neighbours are your biggest security asset; they can keep an eye on your property and can report suspicious behaviour. Download the card at canning.wa.gov.au/saferhomes

Fire Preparedness
In order to protect our community, City of Canning residents are required to comply with the Annual Fire Hazard Reduction Notice all year round.
Prepare your home and property by removing dry vegetation and fire hazards, share your plan with family members and neighbours, pay attention to your surroundings and look out for each other.

Business Safety promotion

The Community Safety team are doing a 'community walk around' to promote the launch of our newly published 'Business Safety Checklist' and supplying safety and security information packs to local businesses.
Walk to School with Ranger Buddy
Ranger Buddy and the community Safety team will be heading to St Josephs School to promote the importance of being safe and making healthy choices like walking or riding to school.
Bunnings Security Incentive Pop-up
The Safe communities team will be at Bunnings Cannington from 12 - 1pm promoting the City's Security Incentive Scheme and Community Safety Survey.
