Public art can tell stories, celebrate, beautify, inspire, connect, engage, and educate. Public art can both express and create our identity. Art has an important role in realising the vision of becoming a welcoming and thriving City. Some of the most recent public artworks commissioned by the City are the murals at Wharf Street Basin, Coker and Clifton Parks. View the gallery on the right to find out more about art around the City. Some of the artworks shown are commissioned by the City and others privately.

The City has reviewed and redrafted policy CM183 Public Art 2009 to be more consistent with contemporary public art programs and policies, and will guide the City's commissioning of high quality and engaging public art. You are invited to comment on the revised draft CM183 Public Art Policy.

To support the implementation of the policy, the City has developed operational guidelines and templates.

Comment period closed 5pm on 11 December 2020.

Comments are being reviewed and where approirate, amendments will be made and an item will go to Council for consideration.
