Development Proposal – Child Care Premises at 211 & 213 Corinthian Rd and 38 Vahland Avenue, Riverton

The City is in receipt of an application for a proposed child care premises at 211 & 213 Corinthian Rd and 38 Vahland Avenue, Riverton. The City’s Officers are required to seek comment from adjoining and other land owners, and occupants in proximity to the proposal prior to making a decision. The proposal is as follows:

  • Demolition of two existing dwellings facing Corinthian Road;
  • The construction of a single storey building to be used as a child care centre for a maximum of 86 children.
  • Construction of 34 on-site car parking bays with access from Corinthian Road.
  • Existing carbays within the Corinthian Road verge to be used as drop off bays.
  • Construction of 602m2 of play areas and landscaping.
  • Proposed operating hours are from 6.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday; and 8am to 1pm Saturday.
  • The existing consulting rooms (dentist) at 38 Vahland Avenue, Willetton to be retained with a minor lot boundary adjustment.

How the City will make a decision on thedevelopment proposal

Following closure ofthis consultation period, a delegated (authorised) officer of the City willconsider the abovementioned matter(s) with regard to the relevant matters forconsideration. This includes consideration of any comments from adjoining affectedlandowner(s) and occupiers.

Should the City issue a decision on the development application (approval or refusal), we will write to you again to explain how the matters you raised have been addressed.

In certain circumstances the application may be referred to the Council for consideration at one of its Council meetings. If this occurs, the City will send you a letter/email inviting you to this meeting.
