PROPOSED LOCAL LAW

City of Canning Local Government Property and Public Places Amendment Local Law 2025

The City of Canning has resolved to make a local law relating to Local Government Property and Public Places Amendment Local Law.

The purpose of the proposed City of Canning Local Government Property and Public Places Amendment Local Law 2025 is to make amendments to the City of Canning Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2021.


The effect of the proposed City of Canning Local Government Property and Public Places Amendment Local Law 2025 is to amend the City of Canning Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2021 to amend the modified penalty for the offence of damaging, destroying or removing a tree or street tree which is on a public place.


A copy of the proposed law may be inspected at or obtained from the City’s Administration Centre, 1317 Albany Highway, Cannington 6107 between the hours of 8:15am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. A copy of the proposed law is available via the City’s website here.

Any submissions or comments received are anticipated to be presented to Council at its Ordinary Council Meeting of October 2025 for consideration and will inform Council’s decision making on the matter.
