Ferndale Park, Ferndale – fenced dog park consultation

Community Consultation Notice

As you are likely aware, dogs are required to be on-leash at all times in Ferndale Park, Ferndale.

In consideration of providing an off-leash option for dog owners, we are proposing a fenced dog park near the western boundary of Ferndale Park.

We’re now inviting residents and park users to share their thoughts on this proposal and your feedback will help guide future decisions.

The City recognises the many dog owners in our community and the importance of exercise for dogs. This consultation seeks to capture the views of the broader community before any decisions are made.

Please note: If supported, funding for the establishment of a fenced dog park at Ferndale Park may be considered by Council as part of the City’s Long Term Financial Plan and Annual Budget process.

We’d love to hear your views. Thank you for being part of the conversation.

We invite you to meet and chat with our Parks and Environment team in the park, near the corner of Blancoa Road and Dampiera Way, on Thursday, 26 March 2026 from 3-6pm.

Please note that submissions will close on 17 April 2026.
