21 Woodthorpe Drive WILLETTON - Place of Worship - Alterations and Additions - DAP25/0007

The City has received a Development Assessment Panel (DAP) application to consider Alterations and Additions to the Existing Place of Worship at the subject site.

The proposed additions and alterations over the subject site will comprise:

  • Modification of the existing ground level car parking to the east of the property which is being converted to an undercroft parking area. The modified car parking area will include realigned parking bays, areas designated for landscaping, and a new garage with proposed new access from Blythe Place to the north.
  • An upper floor extension to the east of the existing building that includes the following components:
    • Addition of a proposed new meditation hall located centrally within the extension of the building to the east.
    • A communal balcony to the southern side of the proposed new meditation hall, fronting Woodthorpe Drive.
    • Addition of a new multi-purpose hall/ dining hall to the north of the proposed new meditation hall.
    • Addition of a new kitchen adjacent the proposed new multi-purpose hall/ dining hall.
  • The proposed extension will overhang the undercroft modified car parking area to the eastern side of the property. The extension will be connected to the existing building by a new foyer that will also serve as the new primary entry point to the facility
  • The provision of new storage and toilet and storage facilities, along with an upper floor services plant

As part of the assessment of this application, adjoining/nearby affected owners and occupiers are invited to view the development plans and supporting reports (as applicable), and make comment on the planning matters that affect their property.

The City’s role is to provide a recommendation to the DAP through a Responsible Authority Report. As part of preparing the City’s Responsible Authority Report to the DAP, the City is seeking your comments on the proposal.

Any comments will be included within the Responsible Authority Report to ensure that the community’s views have the opportunity to form part of the DAP’s consideration of the proposal. Information regarding the DAP process can be found on the DAP website.
