October is Community Safety Month and this year it’s all about hearing from you. Our 2020 Community Safety Survey is now open and we would like your feedback. To go into the draw to win a $100 VISA gift card, complete our survey before 31 October 2020.

Community safety is everyone’s responsibility.

As our City’s Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan 2016-2020 (The Plan) draws to a close, the City is asking for your feedback to help us evaluate our current plan and develop our Safe Canning Strategy 2021-2025.

For your chance to win a $100 Visa card, please submit your survey by 5pm, 31 October 2020.

The current Plan (available for download in the 'Documents' section) was developed through community and stakeholder consultation and analysis of local crime statistics and demographics.

The Plan is made up of four focus areas:

  1. Community Awareness and Education: Raising community awareness through education and communication strategies
  2. City Services: Providing professional and efficient services that make our City a safe and healthy community in which to live, work and visit
  3. Community Partnership: Building, facilitating and strengthening partnerships with government and non-government agencies and the local community to deliver community safety outcomes
  4. Safe Places and Spaces: Designing out crime in the planning, design and management of places and spaces within the City

COVID-19:

We understand that COVID-19 has presented a number of impacts and concerns that participants may feel appropriate to mention here. However, for the purpose of this survey, we are seeking feedback on safety and security matters other than those in relation to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Please note that COVID-19 related projects are a separate piece of work and will not be included in the Safe Canning Strategy 2021-2025.

Accessibility:

If you need an interpreter, please call TIS National on 131 450. Alternatively, call the City on 1300 422 664 for assistance. This document is available in other formats and languages on request.
