Public consultation of the Draft Castledare Local Development Plan

Notice is hereby given that the local government of the City of Canning is advertising the draft Castledare Local Development Plan (LDP) for public consultation.

The Castledare LDP has been prepared by the landowners of the Castledare Estate (Lots 4 & 103 Fern Road and Castledare Place, Wilson) to guide development outcomes within the approved subdivision of the subject land.

We kindly ask that you review the Castledare LDP, and let us know whether you have any comments on the proposal.

How to Submit Your Comments

Please send your written feedback to the City by 5pm Monday 2 March 2026, using one of the following methods:

  • Online Form: Use the form below to submit your comments
  • Email: Send your comments to strategic.planning@canning.wa.gov.au
  • Mail: Send your comments to City of Canning, Locked Bag 80, WELSHPOOL WA 6986

Please remember to include the reference number LDP25/0001.

Submissions on the proposal should include the name and address of the person making the submission, in order for the submission to be considered by the City. These details will not be made available to the public.

In accordance with Part 8 of the City’s Local Planning Policy LP.11 – Public Consultation of Planning Proposals, if no response is received from a notified owner or occupier, the City will assume there are no comments. A lack of response will not be interpreted as either support or objection.

Guidance on what is a “valid” or “non-valid” planning consideration is provided in Local Planning Policy LP.11.

What happens following consultation?

Once the consultation period closes, the City will prepare a report on the outcomes of the public consultation, taking into account relevant planning considerations and any feedback received. The report will then be referred to a Council meeting for Council’s determination.

If you have made a submission, you will receive an invitation to attend or view the meeting online.
