Consultation has concluded

Working together to make Willetton the best it can be.

The City of Canning would like to invite you to participate and help us develop a new Precinct Master Plan for Willetton’s sporting fields, community and civic spaces and the shopping area. View project area here.

What the Willetton Precinct will look like is up to you. The City is preparing a new Willetton Precinct Master Plan, replacing the previous Burrendah Master Plan.

The City has progressed preparation of the Willetton Precinct Master Plan, in consultation with the community. Before considering a final master plan, you are invited to provide comment on the current draft. The following plans were presented at the recent pop up session at the Southlands Boulevard Shopping Centre. They show a staged approach to development of the area:

  • First stages (First stages plan can be viewed here)

    • improvements to the recreation and sporting precinct north of Burrendah Boulevard, including improved parking, circulation and access;

    • relocation of the skate park to a more central and visible location adjacent Burrendah Boulevard and Willetton Basketball Stadium

    • provision of a new adventure playground

    • upgrades to the treatment of Burrendah Boulevard and Pinetree Gully Road; and

    • identifying potential expansion to the Willetton Basketball Stadium, subject to funding.

  • Later stages (Ultimate plan can be viewed here)

    • development to the civic precinct to provide improved library, infant health and other cultural infrastructure

    • Any development on the shopping precinct will be subject to the land owner’s priorities, however the plan describes the community’s desire for a village – scale outcome.
